What a month - April

I'm behind again. I've missed a bit so I'll catch you up. April... Flowers start coming up, our baby bunnies are entertaining us every day. We are both working a lot, but we still have jobs, so that is a blessing. We went to church on Easter Sunday. I know, right now you are falling off of your chair. LOL Well, the church did not fall down on us, so God must still have a sense of humor. We both love God, and believe so much, but going to church every week is a bit hard for us. I hope I've told everyone that I grew up Southern Baptist. My dad is very controling about church, and I really have bad feelings about all that. He's a good dad, but the church thing just kind of put me off. I'm posting a pic of me and my dad. Gosh I was so fat in this picture. But that is how I was, so let it go right... Look where I get those small squinchy eyes. Do I look like my dad or what...

We went with Lois and Mark. They are Serene's mom and dad. Serene is Kyle's wife. What a great woman she is. Wow, are we lucky.... Mark and Lois are so great, and invited us to Easter dinner. We're going to actually go to our ward with our neighbors. They are young and have 3 little boys. We only live about a mile or two from Mark and Lois but we are in a different ward. We are so lucky to have all these wonderful families living so close. We have this great cul-de-sac and all the little kids play in the street. I can't be in Utah to have the grand kids around, so I have to settle for our neighbor kids. I so want to be in Utah and get to know all of our grandchildren and be part of their lives. But, it just hasn't worked out that way. So, I'm missing so much...
Last week we had 3 days of snow in a row. We got about 2 feet of snow and then it got really warm. So, everyone in the neighborhood was out having a snowball fight in bare feet and shorts(instigated by my dear husband). So he's out throwing snowballs at all the kids in the neighborhood. What fun.. I should have taken a picture but I didn't. Dang it...

And, can I tell you how much I love our extended family. Clark and Lynnea brought some food storage over from Utah for us. Clark is the dad of Jana and Daelyn. They are such a great couple and we so enjoy their family. I know it's a big extended family, but it's such a blessing. I couldn't wish for anything more. Thank you Kyle and Serene for picking this stuff up. I'm ready for the next food storage sale at Macey's. What a bargain we got on the stuff... We now have added two buckets of banana chips, two buckets of shredded potatoes, one bucket of corn meal, and 5 cans of celery, and 6 cans of whole eggs.

So, here are the birthdays for April...

Rodger is Alan and Deanna's baby boy. Of course, he isn't a baby any more. He is so much fun. So handsome, and always a blast to talk to.. He finally cut off his hair when he took the recent programmer's job. I'm stealing a picture from Bonnie's blog. This is Rodger, Stacy, and Hayli...

Then there is Alan... Georgie tells me these great stories of his wonderful brother. George loves him so much. I'm sure I would have loved him and DeAnna too, if I had the privilege of meeting them. I just get to love them through George. Alan in heaven now, but we still celebrate his birthday. Here is a picture that should be a blast from the past. Look how young they all are. We are going to have a scanning party next time we are in Utah. I'm going to buy a bunch of external hard drives and we can all bring our pictures over. I'll scan everything from everyone and then put it on a drive for each of us. So, get ready and start collecting all the old pictures you have. Alan and DeAnna aren't smiling, but look how beautiful they are. George and Tamara when they were still together with all the three kids... Clint, Amy, and Lisa.

Then we have Jakob, his birthday was on the 18th. I have to re-post Amy's picture of Jakob because this is a GREAT picture. Isn't he the most handsome boy you have every seen.

Then we have little Lisa... What a wonderful woman she is. She is such a beautiful spirit, and a blessing to our lives. George and I both love her so much. She's amazing... I'm sure she won't like this picture but I think she is so beautiful. It's from Christmas and I cropped her from a big picture with all the girls in it.

Here is a picture of George with Lisa when she was a baby. They were looking at Sesame street cards in 1981. It's a bit fuzzy, but so cute. I have to give a big thank you to Tamara for putting this photo album together for George. It's amazing, and he missed so much, so it's really special to him. It has detailed notes on the back of each picture so we know where they are all from. I'll bring it over next time we come.

This is a picture of George with Lisa at a pool in Elko Nevada. They were there for a baseball tournament.

George and the kids on Tom Sawyer Island in Disneyland. Since Abby and Clint just took the kids to Disneyland, I thought everyone would like this one.

Here is a picture of George with Lisa in a long line at Disneyland. He was listening intently to what she was trying to tell him. Look at that sweet patient look on his face.

Wow! I would love to see the pictures (and get the scanned copies) when you come up next too.

Something about these pictures was so good for my soul! I have a lot of memories, but the sweet little simple everyday moments....I wish I could remember them all. I could stare at these pictures all day!!

THE SESAME STREET CARDS! Oh my flash back! That is hilarious!

Sondi, I hope you know how much I love you! I really really do! I am glad my kids get to call you Grandma. You are such a fun grandma for them. We wish you guys lived closer too! Dad is ALWAYS so much fun with kids. They would get the biggest kick out of him, I am sure! The snowballs & barefeet made me laugh. It didn't suprise me at all that he would get that started! Reminded me of Tote-Goats & Snow ball fights, complete with fort walls in G & G Hardy's front yard!

I am also glad you guys have Serene's & Clark's family! I love that you went to church. I know you will like it.

As far as the big extended family....isn't it amazing?! There are times that the situations don't seem ideal, but there are blessings with every trial. Through all of this we have been blessed by a HUGE family! I have so many mom's & Dad's! :) It is funny! I love it though! I love having people in my life that I love so much! No matter how they are connected! :)

Alright, now I have to get back to moving! BLECH! Ryan is out of town...it is all me! YUCK! No worries, a LOT of guys from my ward are coming tonight to help me with the heavy stuff and a few of the ladies from Relief Society are coming to help me finish cleaning! I can't even tell you how much I appreciate that right now! :)

Thanks for sharing the pictures. Throws me for a loop. My best memory of the Disneyland trip is going on Space Mountain with you. You made me feel pretty cool and I was filling big since I was tall enough to go.

I just linked over from Amy's blog. It's so good to hear about you and your adventures in Colorado. As for the barefooted snowball fight, I think there is something in the Hardy DNA, makes those boys just a bit nuts! :)
I would love to get in on the scanning session too if I could?
BTW I just got your Mother's Day card. I just have to say my mom doesn't even send me a Mother's Day card! Thanks so much.
